Our Introduction to Service Leadership Programs (SLPs)

On January 27, our L.G. Francesco Coccimiglio joined us for our introduction to SLPs. Kathi Silke, SLP Trainer, provided us with the structure, cost and function of the different levels of SLP clubs and the resources available for these clubs. It is essential to know how and when to start a club, and it is imperative to remain consistent and committed to the process of developing Leaders. Much thanks to Kathi for sharing this valuable information.

Pat Lawrance, Key Club Advisor for two Kiwanis of East York clubs, shared her experience and wisdom as a Key Club Advisor and will provide an orientation to Joan-Mary for this role. Much Thanks to Pat and Joan-Mary.

Samantha Jenkins, L.G. Division 5 Key Clubs and student of A.Y. Jackson Secondary School gave us additional information on resources for Key Clubs and we learned of several very successful Key Club projects that have been  carried out in our city. Great job and much thanks to Samantha!

Mary Ellen chaired the session, drew up the agenda and arranged the speakers. Much appreciation to everyone for making this session so successful.

Thanks to Mary Ellen and Pat for creating this opportunity! We left our education session feeling so much more informed and ready to start one or two SLP’s!

Francesco and Kathi are Kiwanis Club of Casa Loma members, Pat and Mary Ellen are Kiwanis Club of East York members, Mary Ellen is also a member of our Kiwanis Club of Scarborough along with Mitzie, Sashoy, Donna, Aidan and Frederica are working together to meet another Kiwanis Goal, the establishment of another SLP in Toronto, District 9!
